Well, I cannot resist to post another item concerning this pnWeblog.
Pfuttt ... What a nice little piece of cake. That is what I am looking for, integrated with Postnuke.
Just installed and uploaded my first photo gallery.
Though, I have spent some time to read the notes, the reading was very useful.
Here I jot down the main steps I have taken, in order to make it online. My purpose is not to paraphrase what has been written by the developers. Just a reminder for myself. Just in case .
Steps:
1) Download
- pnWeblog (0.4)
- pnUserPictures
- pnProfile
- scribe!
Read carefully and follow the intall.txt in each pn modules,
where and how the files should be installed .
2) Upload to my website:
As superuser or admin do:
Administration->System->Modules->regenerate.
Initialize and activate the four pn modules (pnUserPictures is shown as UserPictures after decompressing):
Administration->System->Modules
Go to 3rd party section:
Click on pnWeblog icon.
It will display what is missing, if necessary. I forgot to do some tasks in scribe module.
Make the necessary hooks, edit, admin for each pn module (such as initialize and enabling the functionalities).
In pnWeblog admin, I create my own blog.
It helps to be admin; The way I have setup the PostNuke site, by showing all installed modules in the left side menu (Xanthia), it takes me little time to call them right away (just look up at the menu).
By using the left side menu, I was able to see where it is wrong, specially for the pnWeblog/gallery. I have gone back and forth several times, in order to make the pnWeblog running.
I believe the way the developers have packaged the pnWeblog and its addons is to ease one needs. This way, I am glad that I can understand the purpose of each module and how they interact.
For the time being, I have just created a webog, put my picture and created a pholo gallery, writen and edited the current articles.
Good guys. Thank you.
